Place rhubarb in saucepan with water and sugar, cover and cook about 5 minutes until tender. Remove from heat and add strawberries. Toss bread crumbs with the butter.
Place rhubarb/strawberry mixture in greased 8 inch baking dish; sprinkle crumbs evenly over the top.
Bake in a preheated 350° oven for about 30 minutes. Serve with cream if desired.
