Cream together butter and powdered sugar; add vanilla. Add flour, salt and nuts. Add cream; knead lightly.
Form into a roll 2 1/2 inches in diameter; roll up in plastic wrap. Chill for several hours or overnight.
About 30 minutes prior to baking preheat oven to 350°.
With sharp knife, cut dough into 1/4 inch slices. Place on ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake for 15 minutes, or until delicately browned around edges.
Remove to wire rack. While still hot, roll in additional powdered sugar.
Makes 3 dozen cookies.
The name of this recipe means 'bride's cookies' and they are traditionally served at Mexican weddings.
